Vivaldi is a new, feature rich web browser that combines an Opera-like interface with a Chromium open-source platform.
Vivaldi is very similar to the Opera browser in many ways. There are some pretty cool features which are nice, such as the interface, which fades colours to match the dominant colour on the page as you navigate between sites.
Aside from the snazzy effects, the browser has clearly been designed with power users in mind, as the Quick Commands tool shows. This helps the user to search or run commands in much the similar manner to OS X’s Spotlight feature.
Vivaldi supports browsing with mouse gestures, and the ever-familiar 'speed dial' interface, which shows your favourite tabs on the new tab page is also a great, albeit old, feature that is present in this new web browser.

The layout of Vivaldi looks great too. Inside the left toolbar is the bookmarks menu is the Bookmarks and Downloads menus and a Notes tool as well. There is a lot housed here, however the interface manages not to feel at all cluttered. Items are placed in logical places and are all kept small and out the way giving you a fresh, clean feel.
Overall, Vivaldi has a crisp, sharp-edged interface, which uses simple but effective fonts and icons. It is clearly aimed at power users as the different features and tools show. It is relatively small (for a browser) and is not that hard on system resources. If you feel like a change from Chrome, Safari, Opera or Firefox then why not check it out?

It can be tweaked, extensively to suit your particular browsing style. The user interface doesn't really stand out from its competitors, but it is easy to configure, including the options to import bookmarks from IE, Firefox, and Chrome. One thing worthy of note is the extensive help file, which covers everything you could possibly need to know about SlimBrowser Portable.

Sleipnir is an interesting take on the standard web browser. It has been designed to surf the web with numerous tabs open simultaneously, rather than having to navigate forwards and backwards in a single, combined view.
Sleipnir has removed the the URL bar that is normally located in a browser’s main interface. There is, however, a small search box on the right-hand side of the tiny slim controls, that sits upon the main window. The design idea is very simple really; you are either navigating to already bookmarked websites, or you’re navigating via searches.

  • Sync bookmarks with iOS devices.
In order to navigate the web, Sleipnir displays a horizontally scrolling selection of thumbnail tabs. By rolling over each tab with your cursor, you are shown the tab’s name and the option to close it. You can also drag tabs on one another, in order to group them together.
For web searching, as soon as you type in a subject, you are given results from the search engine of your choice (configurable in Preferences). By hitting tab, you can look up that same term on Amazon, eBay, Wikipedia, or any site you wish.
Sleipnir does have a few nice features tucked away, such as gesture support for tabs; to close a tab simply use an L-shaped swipe, to reopen a closed tab, use a square-esq shaped U, or you can reload a page by drawing a circle. These do require some more work, but in testing seemed to function fairly well.
Overall,Sleipnir is a refreshing change to the standard web browser that we are normally presented with. The search facility is really fast and the user interface is really well presented and is not hard to navigate, it just takes a little time to get used to. Where the browser does suffer slightly is with performance. In testing it was found lacking in a speed and some pages did not respond as they should. Also, if you are trying any processor intensive tasks, then Sleipnir for Mac may struggle.

Opera Mobile 11 is a browser for the Windows 7 platform, which can also be used on your mobile device running the same operating system.
Opera Mobile has incorporated the features of the mobile version of the browser to fit a Windows environment. Opera Mobile 11 is both lightweight and functional. The really good feature of Opera Mobile 11 is the quality of the zoom. The images and text are easily readable and crisp. Other good features include a password manager, favourites support, automatic completion of addresses you type in and saved web pages for offline viewing. The standard Opera home page Speed Dial are also there.
Opera Mobile 11 for the Windows 7 platform is a great option for people who rely upon mobile browsing.

Notepadd++ Plugin Manager is a plugin for Notepad++ that allows you to install, update and remove plugins from the Notepad++ application.
A centrally hosted XML file holds the list of plugins, that the plugin manager downloads and processes against the list of installed plugins.
Key features include:
  • Install, Update and Remove all existing plugins.
  • Notify when an installed plugin has an update available, and allow the user to update directly.
  • Calculate dependencies between plugins, any plugin can depend on another plugin, which will be installed automatically if the user installs the initial plugin.
  • Install all supplemental files as well as the plugin file itself (e.g. config, doc, extra libraries).
  • Automatic installation of the correct version (ANSI/Unicode) for your Notepad++.
  • Validation of DLLs copied, against a central list of valid files. This slightly mitigates the risk of automatically downloading updates.
  • Only plugins that are compatible with your Notepad++ are shown.
  • Plugins can be put into categories .
  • Plugin Manager is able to update itself, and will notify the user when an update is available.
  • Proxies are supported, just change the setting.
  • Updates can be ignored, and the user will not be alerted to that update again.
Please Note: for Vista / Windows 7: In order to update the plugin manager to 1.0.8 , you need to run Notepad++ as administrator, update plugin manager, then everything will run properly under a normal user. Future updates to Plugin Manager will automatically run as administrator.
